I have lived in France part of the year for the past 23 years and use that time to think, create, and paint. Hiking plays a big part in my life, and I’ve done extensive hikes in the past few years in the Canadian Rockies, Sedona, Morocco, Bulgaria, the Everest Base Camp Trail in Nepal, National Parks, the Grand Canyon, and Denali in Alaska. These experiences feed into my painting habit, and I’ve drawn many of my cards from photos I’ve taken while traveling through these exciting places.

Being creative in one way or another has always been in my blood, and although I didn’t start painting until 2006, I think art for me is a natural extension of my previous experiences. What do I love most about the design process? I never know what a finished card or product will look like when I start … and that keeps the process fun and engaging for me.

Obviously, it’s not all seriousness: I believe humor is essential to our well-being, and I am always on the lookout for ideas to make people, including me, laugh!
